It don't even talk about CJK though. CJK texts mixed with latin characters is also a giant source of headaches.

Depend on the use case, you may want the "中" to align with "j" (for a tight layout like terminal) or "h" (normal articles). But there is never a way to specify it. You just pray that it is correct or your text gets clip out in tight layouts.
