For what is worth: I'd move to the US, and in principle I'm not opposed to working at a startup. However, the H1-B visa says I that if I lose my job, I need to get another within 1 month or leave the country. So, while I'm not so risk-averse in the sense of being afraid to be temporarily jobless, I would avoid putting myself in such a position.
