What's that got to do with anything? My point was that by defining themselves in terms of "not ycombinator" it doesn't look good.

I'd much rather read about an "independent, peer-based company building support group" or something like that.

They haven't defined anything yet, this is just the first few days, everything is up for adjustment, not getting in YC is driving them, if this works it will have to change to work as you're suggesting.
