You're right, the point gets lost, I hear what you're saying. I guess it reflects that I'm tired of trying to have normal conversations about it, I feel like the people who blame everything on Facebook are completely unhinged.

They are unhinged. I've got worse things I've written than you because of my frustrations that I won't get into. We are in complete agreement, it seems, except on certain tactics. I will probably be more agreeable to your approach after 7pm, but I try to stay off HN after drinks.

There may be some truth to what you're saying, but your first message is what most people would call unhinged. "Fuck people who believe in X" without then substantiating it (or substantiating with "it's so obvious I don't even need to") will only find an audience who already agrees with you and does nothing constructive.

Any googling results in reports that Russians spent, even at the highest estimates, literally immaterial amounts on ads relative to the candidates and PAC's. And people on the left still insist it mattered! Meanwhile, Mike Bloomberg said he wants to spend $500 million (WTF!!!!!!) on anti-Trump ads in 2020. Reminder: he isn't even a candidate! So is this interference???

Money spent on ads directly doesn't reveal the actual budget of the campaign, as most of it was likely concealed in "news" in one shape or another.
