And it is disgusting that this is often necessary to avoid spammy website behavior. People who don't understand browser internals are forced to contend with popups and forced registration to unveil content indexed by search engines.

I presume there is some German word that describes the feeling of searching, seeing what you want right there, bolded in the result text, and doing a CMD-F to search for it on the page, only to hear the plaintive beep of 0/0 results.

If this happens, try hitting the google cache of the same page!

Yep, that's the next obvious step in the escalation game. It works.. unless sites prevent it from working.
