Show HN: RaftLib – Easy, productive parallel programming in C++ (raftlib.io)

Looks like you have a name collision with the Raft Consensus Protocol. Although, it does look like your usage is based on the Raft language which appears to predates raft consensus. You might want to mention somewhere that this is unrelated.

Overall looks like a great project. Will give it a shot.

Your comment saved me a lot of confusion. I wonder if it makes any sense to have some kind of ontology for HN or sites like it that would truly no-context give full resolution to the items in the submission title or article. e.g. "computers::programming::languages::raft" + "computers::programming::paradigm::parallel".

EDIT: I meant that as some sort of metadata/tagging system.

Thanks! Totally agree, but, too late once I already published papers with RaftLib...and own the domain. Give it a few years and hopefully it'll be disambiguated.

In a few months we'll roll out the distributed compute support, before that though I'm ironing out Windows compatibility bugs and getting the more researchy part of the code-base integrated with the rest of it. Maybe in another year we'll have another ShowHN post to detail the overhaul.

The API though, is stable. We might add to it, but definitely not take away.

I was initially confused. I spent some time trying to understand how RaftLib makes use of the Raft protocol, and after some time, whether it made use of it at all.
